Why are you criticizing people who have Youtube accounts too? I love Newgrounds but I'm not going to remain to it exclusively if there's a chance I could reach more people, they don't sponsor me (yet). Why is it wrong that people would choose to upload their animations to Youtube as well?
because youtube is a crutch. the world's largest digital garbage dump, owned by a company with no regard for the consumer and an ultimate goal to control all data in the entire world (not joking). anyone who posts their work there is subject to theft and shit treatment by a staff who quite frankly does not care about you unless you generate enough viewership to create revenue for their intrusive ad space.
and technically speaking, their video and audio codecs are absolute garbage and drastically reduce quality in return for speed, in which half the time youtube lags anyway and it doesn't make a difference.
there are better alternatives, and the fact people just go there for the sole purpose of exposing themselves to a larger audience without regard for the damage and consequences is downright foolish.
but judging from the people you seem to look up to, you probably wouldn't care about any of that.
