Phuckin' eh.

Well, in my opinion, it was the best movie i've seen so far.
I can understand some people dont think its the best movie and they can have their own opinions. If you say it suck im probably sure you were saying this even before you watched this because nobody can bring any arguments that this movie sucked. You might have disliked it, but it's not on top of box-office for nothing.

Lol at the picture xD

i guess that makes titanic the 2nd best movie ever right

A film is more than the sum of it's parts, and while you can say the script was "stunningly mediocre" (and you'd be right), that doesn't change the fact that when I left the theater (iMax 3d if there's a difference) I felt like I had just stepped out of the holo-deck. I'm gonna give the movie it's due kudos for giving me my first actual novel movie-going experience since I was a kid.

To me, the nuances of the story really take a back seat to the fact that it was the closest I've ever felt to actually being on an alien world, and that 's pretty fuckin' cool. The mediocre script and the certainly passable acting, were supported (and compounded) by the sheer immersion.

I would judge this movie with different criteria than most, because though the script and character arcs are derivative, if my jaw is in my lap for 3 hours I think I can safely say it was a "good movie".

Hey that's just imo.

I feel that a lot of people (even in this thread) likely feel the same way, but are hesitant to go against the internet grain so to speak. That's not to say that a lot of the criticism is valid, and I'm sure your dislike is genuine, but I doubt I'm the only one hear who's mind was blown by Avatar.

just stepped out of the holo-deck, are you kidding? it's like 3D glasses were invented yesterday.

* scratch that comma

* is, not isn't

* here, not hear

:P

Lol, and we animators and game designers thought we were unoriginal. Luckily I had 7$ nachos while watching this movie so I gave it a 5/10 that 5/10 which has now dropped to a 2.5/10

TWEENS!!!!

I've been waiting for such a long time for Ponyo... and I've actually resisted any temptation to see it online just so that I can actually see it in the theaters!

T_T

Damned English cinemas.

good on you

I don't know how much difference iMax made, but I've seen 3d movies (Up, Cloudy w/ Meatballs, other crap) and Avatar was miles beyond those as far as the 3d itself is concerned.

But anyway I was talking about the holodeck in reference to the feeling of immersion, not the technology.

i felt immersed .... in a bad movie

i understand ur dislike of this film but he's not the first to have a stolen story line, and if you think he such an idiot go use your brilliant mind and make 5 billion dollars. plus you shouldnt flame barack obama he isnt even done with his term yet...

LMAO

hahahhhah! I get the feeling you did not like the movie, =) am i correct?

Speaking of overblown animations with zero story or plot, any idea when Light Fixture Girl going to be released on NG?

Avatar was ok, but Lovely Bones was amazing (just saw it today). Stanley Tucci did an especially amazing job IMO.

i agree!

I like th movie Unobtainium is something tht is real here is a wikipedia articcle explaining it

omg

XD hahahahaha finally, when I came out from the theater I was like "Ok... I saw Pocahontas for the 2nd time" every scene I saw I knew what was going to happen, and many people loved it because of the kitty character design.

You know who makes excellent movies? Pixar. Up was fantastic. :D

we'res the birth certificate

pocahontas + ferngully + the smurfs + the matrix + dances with wolves + alien = Avatar

its simple chemistry!

take good, succesful media, mix them with a little bit of 3D, take away the word "fuck", add some splosions, and you have... the most criticially acclaimed movie in 12 years.

holy shit it's a freakin' conspiracy!!! do you mind if i take this picture and show it around?? it's epically true! (i honestly never would have, in forever, ever have thought of making the connection between avatar and pocahontas, and it is HILARIOUS that you did)

it's not my pic, share away

Until the day I find out James Cameron didn't direct Aliens I cannot say anything bad about him. That movie is amazing.

Fake texttt!
